Multiple sclerosis has an awful affect on my neck, back, and head. When your nerves are affected these pains are to be expected. The head pain gets so bad it is what I imagine a migraine feels like. I couldn’t even stand to keep my eyes open during my most recent hospital stay.
I asked the doctor what he could prescribe and he choose Lyrica. I was hopeful it would work. The intense pain kept me awake at night and left me unable to do anything on my iPad. I couldn’t even watch trash TV during the night or day. What’s a hospital stay without trash TV?
Lyrica slows impulses to the brain which cause seizures. It has an affect on chemicals in the brain that send pain signals across the nervous system. It is used for a number of diseases such as fibromyalgia, diabetes, and now it is also being used to treat MS. Side effects range from dizziness to muscle pain and/or weakness. The only side effect I noticed was dry mouth so keep a glass of water nearby.
Much to my delight this was a miracle drug. The pain left my body and I fell asleep for what seemed like the whole day. I woke up and felt refreshed enough to fight, to eat all of my meals, open my eyes, watch trash TV and get out of the hospital.
Lyrica is helpful to me, maybe it could help you too.
Have you tried Lyrica for pain? Or does a different medicines help relieve your pain?
